Swimming pool salt systems have been around for two decades now. The risks associated with human health and corrosion damage to pool structure and equipment is well documented. This has led to a massive boom in the “Alternative Sanitation” industry as well as a huge shift in consumer demand patterns. For example, the fastest growing niche within the new pool construction industry in 2019 is “Natural Pool Design”. Natural pools use no chlorine, salt, or ozone to sanitize the pool water. Instead, they use some type of AOP system to sanitize the pool water. The most advanced AOP system is known as the Drinkable Pool Water System. Some prospective pool owners even have live fish swimming alongside them in their natural pools. This quickly growing health-conscious demographic won’t consider swimming in salt or chlorine under any circumstances and they are driving the growth in this area.
